Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) is busy for this year because they have a few imported offerings slated for launch from now till the end of 2010. The first debut will be the Pajero on this month, and afterward ASX compact crossover will join MMM’s local range in the fourth quarter of this year. According to Tetsuya Oda, the new CEO of MMM, ASX, which stands for “Active Smart X-over” is the Mitsubishi Motors’ latest global model which is very popular in the market and accepted by most of the range of user. Recently, Mazda had unveiled a new concept called the Shinari during a private press event at Milan. Shinari is a four door coupe concept which represents the future direction of design language Mazda family. Public can see how is the look of new Mazda car in the future.

The previous design concept that is “Kodo”, which mean “soul of motion”, alredy replaced the oddball Nagare design language where we still can see this concept from their recent car – Mazda5 MV. “Kodo” is a joint effort between Mazda’s design studios in Japan, U.S. and Germany. According to Ikuo Maeda General Manager of Mazda Motor Corp design division, he believe that new design language that will be used in the new models will lead the next generation of Mazda into new elements.

During the Belgian GP, there was an accident of Sebastian Vettel crashing Jenson Button’s car when the time they are racing for second place and at last both of them were out of the race. On the lap 16, Vettel is still leading Button and he was trying to catch out McLaren that in his front. However, he failed when he tried to close up to McLaren and pulled out dramatically, he lost control and crash Button from the side.

“It was not what you would expect to see in F1 – more reminiscent of junior formulae. A drive-through seemed a pretty light punishment to me. I would rather he did it with his team-mates rather than do it with us,” said McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh after the race.

One of the GM’s European divisions, Opel decided to move on by getting their brand into market of China. They will join other GM brands in China such as Buick, Cadillac and Chevrolet. Eventually, Opel have the chance to involve in other Asia Pacific region, Australia and South America through China market. “We will market Opel as a European designed car in the premium segment. There are a growing number of Chinese who like European cars and have the money to afford them,” said company spokesman Andreas Kroemer talking to a German publication.

Proton EMAS concept now changed with Lotus badged. This new car will aim for different market from original Proton EMAS with different power train combinations although they are still sharing the production platform in order to save the cost. From the information we got, , the Lotus Global Small Car will be positioned at a premium, with a shorter wheelbase and a three-door hatch body compared to the Proton badged version. The new power trains may include the plug-in EV or series hybrid with range extender (just like Lotus Omnivore) or maybe a turbocharged small engine of around 1.2 liters of capacity or lower. After long time, finally Goodyear Malaysia announced a new range of its tyre, that is, – the Wrangler AT/SA. The “AT” here AT stands for All Terrain and SA is short for SilentArmor technology. Kevlar, a material that’s five times stronger than steel is used to strengthen and reinforce the Wrangler AT/SA tyre in two layers, and Goodyear’s Durawall sidewall which promotes cut resistance. Besides, Goodyear also make the improvement for their Durawall’s two-ply sidewall construction and its compound where it can make the new Wrangler become more robust off the beaten path.
