If there is one thing Alfa Romeo is known for, it is for making beautiful cars and the 2011 Alfa Romeo Giulietta fits the bill. Currently the Giulietta is not available for U.S sale but costs around $34,000 which is not bad at all when you consider what you are getting.This hot hatch back comes standard with a 1.4 litre 170 horsepower turbocharged engine and a 6 speed manual gearbox.

The Giulietta weighs in at just over 3000 pounds and can go from 0 to 60 in under 8 seconds which is sure to impress your friends.Not nearly as much as the interior will impress them though. When you step inside your brand new Alfa Romeo Giulietta you are promptly greeted by beautiful leather upholstery and a sleek centre console that is something out of a James Bond film. The car is only available as front wheel drive but features tough and reliable suspension and I have yet to even mention the best part. When you press the sport button you get to experience the power of that turbocharged engine as you put your foot down. The suspension becomes tighter and the steering becomes more agile. The power of the engine that is being held at by is suddenly let loose and then you realize, you are having fun. Of course everybody eye will be drawn to this car as you fly right by them. There are many hot hatchbacks that one could choose from today. Maybe for the same price, maybe for cheaper maybe for more.

The question is though, why would you want to buy one of those when you could own an Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Alfa Romeo has succeeded all these years for several reasons the most important is the style that comes along with owning one of these masterpieces, because an Alfa Romeo is not just a car but a piece of art.

Even though Alfa Romeo 8C is a superb model, most people that tried driving it say that it handles quite badly, possible because it was built on a Maserati platform that is over a decade old. Even though adding more power isn’t a great idea for a car that doesn’t handle well, Novitec decided to modify it and make it even more powerful.

Novitec is a tuning company that is based in Germany but enjoys working and updating Italian models. The 8C Spider received from them a intercooler and supercharger and managed to boost the car’s power from the standard 450HP of the 4.7L V8 engine to 600HP, so a 33% increase. All this extra power shaves off 3 seconds of the time needed to do the 0-60 sprint and now it can be done in 3.9 seconds instead of the standard 4.2 seconds.

The Novitec Alfa Romeo 8C Spider also received a different engine control module plus a exhaust of stainless steel. Hopefully, they will also upgrade the brakes as well, if they plan to add that much power to the car. [Source: Autoblog]
