Honda Civic Soon Available with New 1.6 i-DTEC engine
If we asked you to name makes and models of cars commonly associated with the corporate car market, you would likely give us names like the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra, if you’re talking about the more mainstream segment, or BMW and Jaguar if the management end of the market comes to your mind. Would Honda also be on the tip of your tongue? Chances are, it wouldn’t. How many times have you seen a corporate-branded Civic, Accord or CR-V?
This is something Honda want to change. They are keen to poach corporate fleet sales away from more traditionally-associated brands. The UK business fleet car market is very large and in these prudent financial times, fleet managers increasingly bear economy and the environment in mind.
In a bit to gain a decent slice of the action, Honda are fitting their Civic, which is proudly made in Swindon, with their new 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. Company car buyers will be impressed by the published fuel consumption figure, which claims that it can return upto 78.5mpg. What’s more, the 1.6 i-DTEC power plant is also relatively good for the environment, putting out only 94g/km of CO2 emissions. This means it costs nothing in road tax, so is another plus point for fleets.
It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the latest Honda Civic hatchback certainly looks strikingly different to most other rivals and its interior is also very cutting-edge, quirky and futuristic. Honda has long been known for producing reliable cars and this Civic should be no exception. The 1.6 diesel engine isn’t the most rapid, producing 120PS, but the 6-speed manual gearbox should keep drivers entertained, as should the DAB Digital Radio fitted to the ‘EX’ model. Top Gear reviewed the Civic with this small and economical diesel engine and said that it is the most torquey in the class, although the power comes in one narrow lump in terms of the rev’ band.
2012 Honda New 1.6 i-DTEC Engine
Mixing British-ness, Japanese quirkiness, reliability, a futuristic exterior and interior and a frugal, lightweight aluminium engine with a compact turbo, which results in zero road tax and impressive fuel economy, the Civic 1.6 i-DTEC should post a decent alternative choice in the corporate market. It’s expected to go on sale in early 2013 priced from £19,400, with the same 1.6 engine being fitted to the new CR-V later in the year.

Honda Tops Reliability Survey
Honda cars are the most reliable on the road. This is according to a new infographic which has been released by Warranty Direct and MoneySupermarket.
The results are based on thousands of car warranty deals which are held through Warranty Direct. Each car manufacturer is assigned a Reliability Index (RI) score based on these policies which reflects the average number of failures and cost of repairs for all the vehicles across each manufacturer’s entire model range. For reference the average RI score is 100 and the lower the number, the more reliable a manufacturers vehicles tend to be.
Honda may produce the most reliable cars in general, but they don’t have the most reliable overall model. This honour went to the Kia Picanto which had a remarkable reliability index figure of just 3.00. This helped ensure that Kia were rated as the 5th most reliable manufacturer overall just behind Ford who were benefitted by the fact that they generally have the cheapest repair costs.

Acura ILX

2013 Acura ILX
The 2013 ILX is the newest model of Acura which is entirely unique despite being loosely based on the Honda Civic platform. Nonetheless, the ILX has more stylish shape with reduced interior headroom compared to the Civic model. The ILX comes in three versions; the 2.0L, 150-hp, 4-cylinder model; the 2.4L, 201-hp, 6-speed manual transmission (more performance oriented); and the 1.5L Hybrid, 91-hp, 4-cylinder engine, 23-hp electric motor (Acura’s first gas-electric model). If you are a luxury car shopper seeking a new, efficient sport sedan, the 2013 Acura ILX might just be the car for you.
Excellent Performance
Despite car manufacturers being wary of exposing shared platforms among their car models, Acura openly acknowledges the relationship between the Civic and the ILX. However, the two have numerous mechanical differences. Firstly, the ILX is much lower and about 1.5 inches wider than the Civic. The shock absorbers on the 2013 ILX are entirely different and use the two-piston system. This provides the ILX Sedan with a soft ride, in addition to sharp bump absorption, and excellent cornering performance. With a fast steering ratio and upgraded hardware, the Acura ILX offers a pretty decent riding quality.

The three versions of the 2013 ILX are identical externally, except for the functional trunk spoiler and different wheel designs on the 1.5L Hybrid. The interiors of the ILX are user-friendly with a high resolution central display that features a control knob for navigation and advanced audio functions. Apart from a relatively narrow cabin compared to the Civic, the ILX features advanced materials for its interiors. The 2.0L and 1.5L Hybrid model come standard with cloth seats, Bluetooth and a moon roof. Premium versions have additional features which include, an uprated stereo, HID headlamps, heated leather seats, and a rear camera. Moreover, the Technology package that costs more has over-the-top features but is not available on the 2.4L model.
The 2013 Acura ILX is a premium sports sedan in a class of its own. If you valued the Acura RSX, the ILX is all that and much more, and with under $30,000, you will enjoy a luxury, dynamic drive in the new kid on the block from Acura.

The 2012 Honda FCX Clarity
Probably one of the most anticipated and eagerly awaited cars of all time, the Honda FCX Clarity has drawn a lot of attention to itself in the years building up to its eventual release. The question is, has all the hype been overstated, or does the Honda FCX Clarity deliver on its expectations and deserve the heaps of praise which it has received.
Unlike other cars, the Honda FCX Clarity is unique in that it is powered by hydrogen. It is known as a fuel cell electric vehicle. The result of this is that the car is a zero-emission vehicle, with the only emission being water. As can be expected, this is a remarkable breakthrough in the automotive industry, and many consumers are looking forward to the incredible fuel savings as well as the positive environmental effect that this car will have.
Design Of 2012 Honda FCX Clarity
The car is a four door sedan which is beautifully sculpted. It has a futuristic style to it, signifying Honda’s intention to lead the way as it would seem. The car’s chassis is crafted from aluminium, adding to the fuel efficiency that the car offers. The FCX Clarity features and aggressive front-end, with a six sided grille, which adds to the uniqueness of the car. It is really a car that will have people turning their heads if you drive by.
Honda Engine
The most curios aspect about the FCX Clarity was about how the vehicle will be powered. The FCX Clarity features a “V Flow Fuel Cell Stack”, which produces 100 kilowatts of power. Together with that is a Lithium-Ion battery with an output of 288 volts. These two are combined with a 100 kilowatt electric motor. The result of this is an innovative power-train with smooth yet powerful acceleration, and sufficient power on tap for those open roads.
FCX Clarity Performance
While a lot of electric vehicles are considered to be slow, the Honda FCX clarity breaks that notion, with more than enough power to consider it to be a relatively powerful car. The Lithium-Ion battery serves as back-up power, should the car require it. Not much is known regarding the car’s actual performance stats, but on paper, performance is likely to be yet another positive factor about the car.
All in all the Honda FCX Clarity is the symbol of innovation which we may see many manufacturers following. With the high fuel costs, not to mention the environmental concerns which we have looming our heads, the Honda FCX Clarity is well poised to lead the way in which cars of the future will be moving towards.
The Long Awaited Acura NSX 2012
When Honda first began producing the original NSX in 1990, little did it know the following it would receive. The NSX has been immensely popular and is the reason the car saw production between 1990 and 2005. Many were saddened to see this iconic super car from Japan disappear. The next question would be, “will there ever be another NSX”?
Introducing the Acura NSX 2012
The answer to the previous question would be a resounding, “YES!” Honda originally had plans to develop a new NSX and some evidence of that surfaced in 2007. However soon after, the project was put on hold because of worsening economic conditions around the world. It wasn’t until more recently that Honda decided to revive the NSX project.
The Acura NSX 2012 extends nothing from the previous generations. This is a newly designed model that’s bold in every way. From the exterior sheet metal to the internal components, the new NSX will put the “super” back in super car.
The NSX is expected to have a hybrid based engine that will produce around 400 hp. The original NSX replacement concept was rumored to be a front-engine design with a ten cylinder V-6. However, that never came to be. Instead, the NSX is now confirmed to be a mid-engine placement with all wheel drive capabilities. The interesting element here is that the rear wheels will be driven by a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox, while the front wheels are powered by electronic motors.
Consumer Impressions
As with any new car model, it’s vulnerable to consumer scrutiny at all levels. Add in the fact that the new NSX has been a long awaited super car and you won’t be hard-pressed to get open public opinion. Many agree that the styling is bold and unique. Some find that the angles are too sharp while others are unsure if Honda should have decided to incorporate a hybrid engine. Whatever your opinion may be, you can’t deny that the Acura NSX 2012 will have people talking, and hopefully buying.

Another Legendary Release for Honda Accord 2012

Reliable and fairly cheap Honda Accord 2012
The Honda Accord has always been the choice of those who want a reliable and fairly cheap car. And over the years Honda has learned about their Honda Accord audience and what they want from their cars. And with the 2012 Honda Accord Honda illustrates quantity more than quality all around as the Honda accord checks all the lists of must have in cars of its class but doesn’t exude any outstanding characteristics.
Honda Accord have very low fuel consumption
The 2012 Honda Accord is truly a king size saloon car with more than ample room for everyone and one of the roomiest back seats in the segment. And if fuel prices have you worried then the 2012 Honda Accord has you covered with an outstanding fuel efficient engine that delivers a whopping 34 mpg. Which is tremendous when compared to all other saloons in its price range and class. The biggest pro of all for the 2012 Honda Accord is its reliability and Resale value which stands as a true testament of Honda products and the 2012 Honda Accord is no different. Lastly styling on the 2012 Honda Accord is modest as it’s not over the top whilst not being too bland.
Unfortunately this is where the praises end as the king size appeal of the 2012 Honda Accord also has its side effects. As the 2012 Honda Accord is at best underwhelming to drive it’s not in any way an exciting car to drive. Instead it’s a much more drab experience than usual with the car wallowing from one place to another which is evident in slightly tight corners. And whilst being a highly fuel efficient engine the 2012 Honda Accord does lack a lot of the omph that is needed for a car this size most noticeably in acceleration. And the fact that it only comes with a 5 speed transmission doesn’t help as competitors have moved to 6 speed. Lastly the interior quality of the 2012 Honda Accord is at best OK. As it lacks quality and feel instead it feels like the cost effective choice.

Overall Honda Accord is a good buy in 2012
Overall the 2012 Honda Accord remains a cost effective car to buy but it’s no longer the class leader nor in the runners up. A reliable car with the bare minimum for everyday commuting is all you’re getting here folks.
2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe
The major adjust to the 2012 Honda Civic Si is the aged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder motor have been changed with a 2.4-liter motor. We were among the folks who anticipated that this change from the high strong, 8000-rpm 4 to a bigger, torque motor might mess up the smoothness of the Si, however it have not. The newest 4 remains a powerful motor which motivates people to work it up towards the 7000-rpm red line, also to blip the accelerator heartily on each and every down shift. Not to mention, the additional 31 lb-ft of twisting helps make the new Si sense gutsier and simpler to drive.
All the normal four door as well as coupe versions have a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder motor. The DX, LX as well as EX trim lines have a 5-speed stick shift. The LX and EX could be optioned to a 5-speed automated transmitting; the EX-L makes use of the automated only. The Civic Si versions make use of a 2.4-litre 4-cylinder motor along with 6-speed stick shift. Beneath the cover for 2012 is a 2.4-liter, 16-valve, DOHC i-VTEC motor that creates 201 hp and 170 lb-ft of twisting. This is a 22 % rise in twisting within the earlier development of Si motors. A single answer why is the fact that the 2012 Honda Civic Si is not driven by the high-revving K20 2.0-liter 4. It’s created way for a rather altered edition of the K24 2.4-liter also discovered beneath the cover of the Acura TSX which makes a little more strength (201 horsepower instead of 197 horsepower), significantly more twisting (170 lb-ft instead of 139 lb-ft), however red lines at 7000 RPM rather than 8000 and it is nowhere close to free-revving as the predecessor. Consequently, the type of the 2012 Si is highly unique.
Honda isn’t organising a official auto-show expose for the brand new Civic. Thinking about just how much greater the Civic sedan and coupe concepts appeared in the metallic in opposition to the media photos, we are going to hold ultimate view on the manufacturing.
2012 Honda Civic EX

The 2012 Honda Civic EX was redesigned completely by the company and the version that appeared from 2006 to 2011 will be replaced by this new one. It does keep some things from the old design and the fuel economy numbers are improved quite a bit in this new version. This version will come in both Sedan and Coupe versions and with the Si and EX trims. Hybrids and Natural Gas models are offered by Honda and the HF model is a highly efficient version which will be launched in 2012.
The 2012 Civic EX from Honda comes with a 1.8L engine with four cylinders and with 140HP. The fuel consumption for this model is 39 miles per gallon when you’re on the highway. The model comes with alloy wheels which resemble the ones from the Civic Si model which appeared from 2006 to 2008. The car comes with leather seats and navigation as optional features. The new Honda Civic is 177 inches in length, 69 inches in width and it has 56 inches in height, the same as the old version. [Source: MotorTrend]
