Mazda’s Shinari

Recently, Mazda had unveiled a new concept called the Shinari during a private press event at Milan. Shinari is a four door coupe concept which represents the future direction of design language Mazda family. Public can see how is the look of new Mazda car in the future.
The previous design concept that is “Kodo”, which mean “soul of motion”, alredy replaced the oddball Nagare design language where we still can see this concept from their recent car – Mazda5 MV. “Kodo” is a joint effort between Mazda’s design studios in Japan, U.S. and Germany. According to Ikuo Maeda General Manager of Mazda Motor Corp design division, he believe that new design language that will be used in the new models will lead the next generation of Mazda into new elements.
Besides, Mazda also have planned to improve the quality of their car interior design to compete with other brands such as BMW and Audi. They want to be a luxury carmaker as well. “We want to play in the same group as BMW and Audi. On fit and finish we want the same level of quality,” said Derek Jenkins, director of design for Mazda North America.
The Shinari will officially debut at the Paris Motor Show on the 30th of September this year.
